2015 Grand Prix of Texas – Pirelli World Challenge

The Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) series has grown dramatically over the past couple of years and it’s easy to see why. It’s sprint-based format provides for exciting racing. Each race lasts only 50 minutes, so there’s plenty of action. The field for the season opener at the Circuit of the Americas featured more than 100 cars. With manufactures ranging from Ford, Chevy, Honda and Kia, to Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren, this diverse field was a car lovers dream.

One of the major challenges for the weekend was the weather. It was unusually cold for Austin, with Thursday’s testing day activities being pushed back due to ice. The weather continued to be chilly Friday and Saturday and then rainy on Sunday. The teams were battling the conditions all weekend.

There were plenty of story lines that played out during the event, but one of the most impressive was the performance of Ryan Eversley. Making only his second start in the RealTime Racing Acura, he managed to start 25th and work his way into the top-five. It was exciting to watch.

Finally, thanks to North American Sportscar for giving me the opportunity to shoot for them at Circuit of the Americas.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the race:
